Bed head...

This is William's bed head. He always wakes up with this hair and I absolutely love it. No matter what we do, he spikes every morning. We are working on the binki situation, I hate it, William loves it. Hopefully you'll be seeing less and less of that ugly thing in his mouth. Good news though, we had some family photos taken by an amazing photographer that I work with. I will post our family pics as soon as I get them all back, but if you want to see a preview, Lynndi posted a teaser... www.lynndiwilsonphotography.blogspot.com

Fourth of July...

On the way to fireworks...Dad carried the weight!

Beefy and his BFF...Jackson

The fourth of July was so much fun! After spending the afternoon with Mike's family we met up with friends and family for fireworks at Sugarhouse park. Jackson and William chewed on glowsticks (supervised of course) until the fireworks show started. William oo'd and ahh'd with us as he stared into the sky. It was so much fun and we had a great time!

First hair cut...

He loves that little boy in the mirror!

He sat so still during his first haircut, he was so funny laughing at himself. Cira, my stylist, was so nice to cut his hair at the last minute. She has now cut four generations of Vaughn hair!! She is the best and was so good with William. He looked like a big boy after Cira was done, I kind of regretted getting it cut because he looked so big! Our little boy is growing up.

Spring...

Oh boy, I'm getting a lot of flack for not posting new pics of the growing boy. The truth is, I am having so much fun with him I don't want to put him down while I blog. But I have sworn to get better at in in hopes that I can please those of you who have been razzing me. Here are the updates:

William has just grown before our eyes and we can't believe that he is 8 months old! In the last five days he started to crawl on his knees, pull himself up and side step! I think that we should get a little time to enjoy each stage, but beef just keeps growing! My heart melted last week when I walked in after a long day at work he took one look at me and b-lined it to my feet saying mama the whole time. Literally I started crying and Mike just laughed, what happened to our little boy?!?

I'm posting a slide show to catch you up on his newest pics, but here are a few of my favorites...

Will's baptism...

Mike and I felt quite official as we planned our first get together for Will. His baptism was on Jan. 4th at the Newman Center in Salt Lake City. It was just perfect if you ask me. He looked amazing and smiled the whole time. I was astonished as I looked around at the 50+ people who came to support him. They came from many different faiths and backgrounds both friends and family to welcome him to faith. And many more, who were unable to attend, sent cards filled with words of encouragement, congratulations and love.

Fr. Daniel warmed the water for him

Parents and Godparents

Ryan and Marisa have been friends for what feels like forever. They were there during our biggest moments. I thing Ryan was more nervous for his birth than Mike and I were! We recognize their faith and are honored that they are Will's godparents.

There is a lot of love that surrounds this little boy!

Our best Christmas ever...

William's first Christmas was my favorite Christmas. It was so fun to share this holiday with him. We had four days of celebrating Christmas! We decided that our first family Christmas card should star a naked chubby Will. We had fun posing him and he was a good sport about it. We called it quits when the paint started coming off the ornament and his face was covered in it!

We kicked off the holiday with the Vaughn side getting together at my folks house. Mom whipped up a batch of chili verde (that was incredible) and we had the annual white elephant game. William received a lot of fun gifts and had a blast playing with his little cousins. He was so good the whole time being passed around from family member to family member all night!

Next was Christmas eve. We spent the evening with my fam and went to a Christmas party at the bountiful golf course. It was a chili cook-off style with lots of types of chili and good conversation. William wore the cutest Christmas outfit, it was a red corduroy romper with Christmas trees and Santa embroidered in the front. Mike and my brother thought that he looked like a girl and apologized that he had to wear it all night. I thought it was adorable until everyone kept asking how old she was. Needless to say he only wore it that night and now he can't even fit into it.

On Christmas day we opened the few presents we gave each other. Mike gave me two picture frame collages one was pics of our wedding and the other was pics of William. They were the perfect gift and I hung them up in our hallway upstairs. It was the best gift! Will got some slippers for when he is playing in his exersaucer and a few new rompers. We also got him a few toys and books. Then we went to the Glenn family's Christmas breakfast with Mikes side of the family. It was delicious. His aunt Celeste made potatoes, bacon, sausage and eggs with chocolate milk and orange juice! It was a great way to welcome the day. We opened presents after breakfast and William got a bunch of fun noisy toys. He loved watching Kinsley's Elmo live. He would just stare at Elmo as he danced and told stories. It was pretty cute. I really wish we had our camera there. The day continued with opening gifts and grandma and grandpa Glenn's. Will was spoiled there with more fun toys and Mike got an awesome blue ray player. Now we can swap netflix with his fam. Rob and Hilary and uncle Smoosh were there and William soaked in all the attention. Next we went to the Garcia party with all of Mike's mom's side of the family. That was a lot of fun. We got tons of gifts and just about filled the car with Will's stuff. This was the first year that we drew names with the cousins and it was great. William had done so well all day and in pure exhaustion fell asleep on the floor. He got this glow worm from John and he loved it!

Just exhausted

The long day ended with a nice sit down dinner with my folks. Mom had made some delicious prime rib with all the fixings! She even made plain sweet potatoes for William. We pulled him up to the table to join us and he lasted about ten minutes before he fell asleep...in his highchair! He literally had his eyes closed with his mouth open, leaning forward to eat the sweet potatoes. Poor little guy was down for the count. Then we all sat around the Christmas tree in the living room and opened our gifts. It made for a perfect ending to our first Christmas.
